FAQ

Why did ESAB acquire EWM?
Because EWM is a leader in heavy industrial welding and advanced automation. Together, we can offer a stronger, more complete product portfolio and more comprehensive workflow solutions to our customers.
What is the goal of combining EWM with ESAB?
Both companies share a common vision of taking welding technology to a new level through innovation, digitalisation, and sustainability. The combination is a strategic step towards shaping the industry internationally.
Will EWM disappear as a brand?
No. EWM remains an independent brand in the market, with its own identity, product strategy, services, and innovation – strengthened by synergies with ESAB.
What happens to ESAB’s brand?
ESAB continues unchanged — a global brand with a broad welding and cutting portfolio. The two brands complement each other.
How will this partnership impact me as a customer?
You will benefit from access to more complete solutions — from heavy industrial equipment and automation (EWM) to light industrial equipment, filler metals, accessories, and workflow integration (ESAB). In addition, you will benefit from a globally strengthened sales and service network.
Are ESAB and EWM products being merged?
No. Each brand will maintain its own product portfolio. Over time, we’ll identify opportunities for synergy that benefit customers.
Will the EWM product portfolio change?
EWM’s product roadmap continues as planned. Customers can rely on the same innovation and engineering quality as ever.
Will service and support be affected?
No. Both ESAB and EWM maintain their existing service networks. Customers will continue to receive the same support as before.
What advantages does the transaction bring to the markets?
  • Expansion of product portfolios and services
  • Greater international reach
  • Strengthening of innovation capabilities, particularly in welding technology, robotics, and digital solutions
  • Long-term stability and growth prospects for partners and customers
How does this affect warranties?
All warranties remain fully valid. Service processes and commitments continue unchanged.
Who do I contact for sales?
You will continue working with your existing ESAB or EWM sales representatives. Nothing changes in how you buy or get support.
What about distributors — do they need to choose one brand?
No. We expect our Distributors to continue to work in line with existing agreements and programs. Overtime, we will work with them to see how to selectively offer the full portfolio where it makes sense.
Does this change ESAB’s or EWM’s independence?
No. Both remain distinctive brands with their own independent identity. What changes is that now they are backed by the strength of a larger family.
What role will the founding Szczesny family play in the future?
The Szczesny family has played a key role in shaping the development of EWM. Through the partnership with ESAB, their work will be continued and carried forward into an even stronger international future.
Will there be changes in EWM management?
The present EWM management team will continue to lead the business.
What message do we want to convey to our customers and partners?
For our customers and partners, this partnership means continuity, stability, and added value. Together with ESAB, we are setting new standards and opening up new possibilities in welding technology. Welding the future. Together.
